
Mourice Onyango Okuon
Mourice Onyango Okuon is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, specializing in sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) through research, advocacy, and strategic litigation. He is passionate about advancing reproductive justice across Africa, with a particular focus on integrating human rights principles into maternal and reproductive healthcare practices.
He is currently finalizing his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, where his research centers on Sexual and Reproductive Rights in Africa. Mourice holds a Postgraduate Diploma in the Advocates Training Programme (ATP) from the Kenya School of Law and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons) from the University of Nairobi.
As a Fellow in the Evidence Generation Department at Afya na Haki (Ahaki), he conducts legal, human rights, and policy research through an Africentric lens to support reproductive justice litigation and policy reform across the continent.
Mourice has served as Youth Coordinator at Haki Nawiri Afrika, where he led advocacy initiatives on menstrual health and justice, agroecology and food justice, and human rights awareness creation. He also worked as a Legal Researcher and Associate at C. Mputhia Advocates, exploring the intersections between commercial practices and human rights law, and led the Thomson Reuters TrustLaw project, which provided pro bono legal guidance to CSOs and NGOs. In addition, he currently serves as Director of Professional and Leadership Development for the Rotaract Club of Ongata Rongai.
