Juliana Nantaba
Nantaba is a seasoned grant-maker with expertise in delegated authority, collective, and participatory grant-making approaches. She provides strategic oversight for Ahaki’s sub-granting, re-granting, and fiscal hosting, guiding high-impact investments that advance reproductive justice across Africa.
Prior to joining Ahaki, Nantaba led and managed grant portfolios across Open Society Foundations’(OSF) education, public health, and economic justice programs. This included the management of a program expanding from a two-year debt relief campaign into a three-year, $10M annual initiative across Africa, Europe, and Latin America; administering a $1.5M budget supporting civil society, academics, activists, and coalitions to demand accountability and transparency in public services, and co-leading a cross-sectoral COVID-19 response campaign titled, “Our Future is Public.”
She has also coordinated country work packages for Uganda, Zimbabwe, and South Africa in the European Commission’s Go4Health project; executed participatory grantmaking in Sierra Leone, Ghana, and Senegal; and conducted pre-investment analyses and scoping for litigating SRHR for adolescent girls and women in Kenya and Uganda.
