Fanilo Andriamanantena

Fellow

Fanilo is a Malagasy Fellow who, under the Ubingwa Thinktank, contributes to African-led research that strengthens health governance, reproductive justice, and state accountability in national, regional, and global arenas. Trained as a jurist, she holds a Master’s degree in International Relations, where her research examined official development assistance in Madagascar. Her work sits at the intersection of law, policy, and political economy, with a particular focus on health systems governance, aid dependency, and Africa’s positioning in global health negotiations

In addition to her research, Fanilo is actively engaged in advocacy for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for young people in Madagascar. She serves as a member of the Coordination Committee of IYAFP Madagascar. In 2026, she enrolled in a Postgraduate programme in Sexual and Reproductive Health at the Ahaki Institute to further strengthen her expertise in this field.

She is particularly committed to advancing African agency in global health governance and supporting sustainable, locally driven health systems grounded in equity and sovereignty.
