This study examines how legal strategies, including litigation, legal literacy, rapid legal response and legal defence, can
enhance access to safe and legal abortion in Malawi, Zambia, and Uganda, where restrictive laws and policies create
signifcant barriers. It emphasises the potential of the Legal Support Network model in addressing legal, political and
socio-cultural challenges to abortion access and protecting reproductive rights in highly restrictive legal environments.
