"I truly appreciated the flexibility of the learning model and evening classes, which made it possible to balance my studies alongside work without feeling overwhelmed. Learning alongside participants from different African countries greatly enriched our group discussions, as we shared diverse, context-specific experiences that deepened my understanding of SRHR across the continent. The Africentric approach to SRHR has been particularly transformative. It not only challenged my thinking but also pushed me to continually reflect on my history, reclaim my cultural identity, and appreciate the rich diversity within African contexts. The programme strengthened my commitment to grounding SRHR work in local knowledge, lived realities, and culturally responsive approaches. Overall, the programme has been deeply worthwhile. I’m excited for the journey ahead and eager to continue learning, reflecting, and growing."

Beyond the great connections I’ve made, the Postgraduate Diploma in SRH has pushed me to truly decolonize my mind and ground my work in an Africentric approach to SRHR advocacy. As someone passionate about sex education, I’ve been especially inspired to think critically about how history, culture, and values shape our understanding of sexuality. Digging into social constructs and unpacking where our ideas come from has been eye-opening, challenging, and incredibly exciting. It’s reminded me why this work matters and how powerful it can be when it’s rooted in our own contexts and lived realities."
