Nana Koomson

Research Officer

Nana Koomson has an MPH in Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Da Lana School of Public Health, with a collaborative specialization in Global Health. Nana is deeply dedicated to exploring the intricate relationship between human rights and health with a particular interest in access to medication and healthcare services, as well as the promotion of global health equity.
In addition to her role at Afya na Haki, she serves as a research assistant at the Benoit Lab, located at the University of Toronto Scarborough, where she focuses on developing knowledge translation and exchange projects, and is analysing data on the health related quality of life of African, Caribbean and Black people living with HIV/AIDs. Furthermore, she is committed to addressing the issue of corruption in the healthcare sector by advocating for decolonization. This commitment is reflected in her presentations and panel discussions for organizations such as the World Health Organization and the Global Network for Anti-corruption, Transparency, and Accountability in Health.
